World Cup 2010 qualifiers: Argentina, Slovakia and Switzerland

World Cup 2010 South Africa Qualifying: In the last match of group qualifiers Italy won 3-2 versus Cyprus thanks to a Gilardino’s hattrick. Argentina won 1-0 in Montevideo and qualifies for the World Cup. The next playoff matches will be played on November, 14th.

Italy is a thrill-seeking team: in the last match of World Cup qualifiers let Cyprus score twice in the first part of the game. However Italy was already qualified and in the second half Alberto Gilardino scored 3 goals that let them win the game.

France has beated Austria for 3-1 and, together with Portugal that has stolen the second place in the group 1 to Sweden, needs to gain the World Cup qualification with the play-off.

On the other side of the Ocean, the victory of Argentina versus Uruguay is a relief for the fans and the team. Argentina is now qualified. Here’s what Maradona said:
