Coppa Italia

The Coppa Italia (Italy Cup or TIM Cup) is the second national competition after the Serie A.
The first Coppa Italia was played in 1922, but is from the 1958 that it is played every year.
With the Champions League and its TV sponsors, the Coppa Italia lost a little of popularity. However in the last seasons, especially when big teams are involved, it becomes a good competition.
At the Coppa Italia take parts all the teams from Serie A e Serie B for a total of 42 clubs.
In the first two rounds play all the Serie B teams and 2 Serie A teams. From the third round other Serie A teams join, while the first 8 Serie A teams classified join the competition in the eightg-finals.
The team who got more victories in Coppa Italia is the Juventus with 9 trophies. Roma follows with 8, Fiorentina with 6, Milan, Inter and Torino with 5.
