Pelè about Maradona: “He is not a good coach”

Whatever he does, Maradona is at the centre of media’s attention, and not always in a positive manner.

After the strong critics to his absence at an Argentinian National Team meeting, in order to point out the problems of the team (whose qualification for the 2010 World Cup is at risk), Pelè disputes his role: “Maradona is not a good coach”.

We know that the two champions never had a good feeling, however Pelè this time speaked clearly against his eternal rival:

«Maradona took the risk to accept the nominee as National Team Manager and know is paying the consequences. Howevere Dieguito did never do very well with this head: he scored with this hand the lonely important goal with this head. He was not good with the right foot and he never scored with his head».

O Rey confessed that he had a lot offers to be a TM, but he rejected all of them in order to be risky-free:

«My friends’ experiences convinced me that the greatest players are not obviously also great coaches».
